Ruby Starbloom Fish

A special species that swims the waters of Snezhnaya. Viewed from the front, its six fins form a shape resembling stars and snowflakes, and so the angler who first discovered them called them "Starbloom Fish." The red subspecies is close in color to a red beet and was therefore given the prefix "Ruby." That said, the prefix is only a description of appearance. Some scholars have found that the surface coloration serves mainly to intimidate predators, thereby protecting the fish. It is thus somewhat ironic that from a human perspective, this makes them look all the more delicious.
